There is snow outside my window as I write this, so booking a last-minute trip to Hawaii next month sounds pretty great.

Round-trip flights from Los Angeles to Honolulu starting at $200 are available throughout February on various carriers, including Alaska Airlines.

Since this is not an advertised deal, we can't estimate how long it'll be around.

Deal basics

CLINT HENDERSON/THE POINTS GUY

Airlines: Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, United Airlines and Delta Air Lines.
Routes: From Los Angeles to Honolulu.
How to book: Directly with the airline.
Travel dates: February; blackout dates may apply.
Book by: ASAP — travel must be purchased at least three days before departure for Alaska flights.

Kudos to The Flight Deal, which first reported the Alaska deal.

Sample flights

Given that prices for this route vary throughout February, the easiest way to search this deal is to search for the lowest available fares by date, as shown below.

From there, select your preferred round-trip flights from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL). Once you select a date, you'll find one-way flights starting at $99 or round-trip flights starting at $197, which are even cheaper than advertised.

ALASKA AIRLINES

Related: Honolulu will require 90-day minimum stays for Airbnbs and short-term rentals outside resort areas in October

Note that the cheapest flights are for Alaska's Saver fare type, which permits travelers one full-size carry-on item but charges $30 each way to check a bag. These fares are neither changeable nor cancelable. They do not offer seat selection. Consider upgrading to a Main fare for an extra $60 round-trip.

Maximize your purchase

Don’t forget to use a credit card that earns bonus points on airfare purchases. Frequent Alaska Airlines flyers should use the Alaska Airlines Visa® credit card to earn 3 miles per dollar on eligible Alaska Airlines purchases. Or consider The Platinum Card® from American Express (5 points per dollar on airfare booked directly with the airline or through American Express Travel, on up to $500,000 on these purchases per calendar year), Citi Prestige® Card (5 points per dollar on airfare), Citi Premier® Card, Chase Sapphire Reserve (3 points per dollar on airfare), American Express® Gold Card (3 points per dollar on airfare when booked directly through the airline or Amex Travel) or the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card (2 points per dollar on travel). Check out this post for more on maximizing airfare purchases.

The information for the Citi Prestige Card has been collected independently by The Points Guy. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.

Bottom line

You can find $200 round-trip flights to Hawaii from LA. Book soon before the deal disappears.
